Bring an eye mask to block out morning light, especially if your room has a bathroom window without a curtain.

Fairly clean property with excellent and efficient staff at reception desk. Excellent location in the center of Madrid, in the perfectly safe area. Again, walking distance to Prado National Museum.

The unit was spotlessly clean and budget.
It was in a very central setting close to the metro system. Spent our evenings in nearby El Tigre enjoying drinks and atmosphere. The room we had included an electronic key card, a work desk, and a TV set.

The staff were so curtious and helpful. Very nice location to main sights and very safe. I would stay there again and bring more friends.

The best things about Hostal Lisboa were its location and air-conditioning.
Although the rooms were quite clean and tidy, the first impression of the room was bit of a shock. I would recommend the hostal for backpackers who do not spend lot of time in the rooms. However the air-conditioning was a big plus. Also not everybody in the staff spoke English. Luckily this didn't cause any problems.

The location is fantastic, as it is just a few minutes' walk from major attractions and cozy cafes, making sightseeing convenient.
The noise from the stairways and neighboring rooms made it tough to get a good night's sleep, as you could hear every guest coming and going.

The Hostal building was cool despite the very high temperatures and the room was both cool and quiet. It's position is excellent for the city, being within walking distance of the 3 main museums, Atocha Station and the Palace.

Reasons to love it, and reasons not to
The location is fantastic! Just a short stroll to iconic spots. Great nearby dining options. Rooms are clean and surprisingly spacious with good lighting.
Despite the prime spot, noise from neighboring rooms can be a nuisance. Limited front desk hours meant inconvenient key pickup outside check-in times.

The location is great! A couple of friends stayed at a hotel 5 min walk closer to Sol and payed double for a smaller and worse room. The staff, I believe is a family and there are not so many rooms so that makes a nice feeling while staying. They will do their best to make your stay great.
One of the staff did not know english, however, she did a lot to compensate on that. My room had poor or no wifi signal and i needed to work. it didn't take long to convience the non-speaking lady to move me to a room with better signal and she even gave me a bigger balcony room at no additional cost.

I really liked the hotel as it is real value for money. The location is great, so is the room (which was spacious) and its price. The hotel staff was really helpful and friendly. There is no breakfast but in Madrid it isn't a problem as there are lots of cafes around.

The light in my bathroom came flooding in like a spotlight, and where's the hairdryer? I thought hotels pampered guests! Housekeeping must have been on vacation, because I've seen cleaner bathrooms at a gas station. I was ready to rave, but this place really let me down. Oh, how I wish I could give a good review.
